Yinong Young-Xu, Ph.D. |
Dr. Yinong Young-Xu is an independent consultant with EpiPatterns, a New Hampshire data analysis firm where he shares his expertise in biostatistics, epidemiology, and behavioral cardiology with a variety of clients. He is much sought after for his innovative approach to data analysis and his mastery of large health-related data sets. Dr. Young-Xu's research focuses on drug utilization and the intended and unintended effects of pharmaceuticals and medical procedures. In parallel with these studies, Dr. Young-Xu develops new methodologies in pharmacoepidemiology, safety surveillance, and meta-analysis of clinical trials. After taking a B.A. in mathematics at Haverford College, Dr. Young-Xu received his M.Sc. and Sc.D. in epidemiology from Harvard School of Public Health, with concentrations in methodology and statistics. He is the co-author of over fifty publications and abstracts and the recipient of numerous scholarships and research grants. He was the senior epidemiologist at the Lown Cardiovascular Research Foundation, and a biostatistician for the Department of Veterans Affairs National Center for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and a researcher for the Veterans Affairs National Center for Patient Safety. In 2004, he was awarded the Betty J. Cleckley Minority Issues Research Award by the American Public Health Association for his work studying racial disparities in health care. |
