Marion Hannerup
Sage Consultant

Marion Hannerup is an independent media and communication management consultant. She has 23 years of experience in journalism and communications, with over 13 years at the executive level in the private, public and international sectors. In the 1990s, she was a news reporter and editor for Danish National television, specializing in science, medicine and technology. In 1997, she was recruited to start Dagens Medicin, an award-winning weekly magazine for doctors and decision makers in healthcare. During her seven years as Managing Director and Editor in Chief, Dagens Medicin was widely recognized for helping to set the agenda for the health care debate in Denmark.

Ms. Hannerup left this post in 2005 to become Head of Communications and Corporate Affairs in the European Environment Agency (EEA), a European Union body dedicated to providing reliable information on the environment to policy makers and the general public; EEA also works closely with the European Commission and the environment ministries of EEA's 32 member countries. Her primary tasks were to develop EEA´s communication strategy, build an excellent communication staff, and extend the Agency's communication network in member states. During her three year tenure, EEA experienced a significant rise in press coverage all over Europe and across all media-platforms, including the Web.

Ms. Hannerup left EEA in 2008 to start her own consulting business. As a consultant, she currently serves as Director of International Media Development at MTI Bonnier Business Press, where she oversees the start-up of medical newspapers in several European countries. She has lived in Holland, Kuwait, England, Brussels, Belgium and Denmark; she currently resides in Copenhagen. She speaks Danish, Swedish, English, Dutch, German and some French. She will work on international SAGE Analytica projects from the Copenhagen office.
