Dr. David Lindley has been a science writer, editor, communicator, and analyst for 25 years. With a background in physics and cosmology and, he has written widely on the physical sciences and on technology, computing, and energy policy. He is the author of 6 popular books on science and the history of science. .

Dr. Lindley received his undergraduate degree in Physics from Cambridge University and obtained a Ph.D. in theoretical astrophysics from Sussex (U.K.) University in 1981. He was a postdoctoral researcher at Cambridge University and the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory before moving into science communication. After editorial stints in Washington, D.C., with Nature, Science, and Science News, he became a full-time journalist, editor, and consultant in 2000. As well as writing for numerous science magazines, he has consulted on science communication for the National Institute of Standards and Technology, the National Science Foundation, and the National Institutes of Health.
